Of Material and Labour is a speculative documentary driven by British designer Robert Charles Johnson’s research FATCONOMY. It was produced and exhibited as part of the Designers In Residence Showcase at the Design Museum, London.

In this short film we follow Cooper and his daily routine of mining London for fat waste. An old timer of the fat mining industry based in South London, he is building relationships, forging trust and sculpting a lower valued waste product into a higher valued biomaterial.
